Bit Films Studio Directory
Bit Films is, in part, an attempt to bridge the gap between academia and industry. Founder Chris Perry is a long-time participant in both worlds, as an Associate Professor of Media Arts and Sciences at Hampshire College and a former Technical Director and Programmer with Pixar Animation Studios and Rhythm & Hues Studios in California.
The first piece released under the Bit Films aegis was the animated short film Displacement, written and directed by Perry and produced by sixteen students in a semester-long class at Hampshire in 2002. More films followed, as has an internship program for exceptional students. Our alumni have worked at world-renowned studios including Pixar, DreamWorks, Rhythm & Hues, Weta Digital, Sony Imageworks, Moving Picture Company, and Digital Domain.
