DePatie-Freleng Merrie Melodies Theatrical Series -DePatie-Freleng Ent
When Warner Bros. closed the animation studio on the lot in 1963, executive David H. DePatie and director/producer Friz Freleng did what they did best and opened DePatie-Freleng Enterprise. DFE got a big boost from Warner Bros. including a sweetheart deal on leasing the existing but now unused WB animation studio. Warner Bros. also contracted with DFE to produce new Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoons which really helped boost the fledgling studio. These are those shorts.
