Subsidy Lucasfilm Animation was spun off in 2003 as a digital animation studio to produce Star Wars: The Clone Wars - a computer-generated, a weekly animated series exploring the further adventures of "a galaxy far, far away" for Cartoon Network. Following the purchase of Lucafilm by Disney in 2013, Lucasfilm Animation announced their second animated series- Star Wars: Rebels- for air on Disney XD.
