Canada's government supported public producer and distributor. The NFB has offices throughout Canada, and is headquartered in Montreal. The studio produces a wide variety of live-action films, but has a rich history in experimental animation, most notably by Norman McLaren. In fact, most of the NFB's twelve Oscars have been awarded to its animated films.
