Hothouse 4 Theatrical Cartoon -National Film Board of Canada -Alternate: Chance Encounter
Alternate Series Title: Chance Encounter
Hothouse 4 brought together six Canadian and two Brazilian emerging filmmakers to spend three months each creating a very short film based on the theme “Chance Encounter”. They worked under the watchful eye of Academy Award winning director Torill Kove, who helped guide and advise the participants during their time at the NFB.
Each year, The National Film Board of Canada seeks submissions from emerging filmmakers (young and not-so-young), and artists intrigued by animation art. Six are chosen as winners. Hothouse is about re-imagining ways of making animation, ways that are faster, more flexible, and which embrace the many possibilities in the animation process while maintaining creative and technical excellence.
